Sauna is a Finnish word which means “bathhouse”. It has been part of several cultures for thousands of years for a very good reason. Saunas are a great way to reduce toxic burden and those harmful chemicals that unfortunately we are exposed to every single day. BPA is one of them, which can be found in eyewear, sales receipts, storage containers, water bottles, baby bottles, polycarbonate tableware or metal food cans. As you can see, it is difficult to escape from these harmful chemicals.

To reduce our toxic load, it is important firstly, to minimise contact with these products by finding alternative ones, and secondly to help the body detoxify through healthy practices such as sweating.

Due to COVID-19 it is difficult to enjoy going to our local saunas anymore. This is what you can do to mimic its health benefits at home:

20 minutes high-intensity exercise ,10 minutes dry-brushing to remove dead skin, drinking ginger tea and finally having an Epsom salt bath. Why not to choose one day of the week where you could have your own spa experience at home?
